Understanding the Pakistan Stock Exchange
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) is the national stock exchange of Pakistan, with over 500 listed companies. The benchmark KSE-100 Index tracks the top 100 companies by market capitalisation and is the most widely followed indicator of the Pakistani equity market.
Our dashboard provides real-time indicative pricing for major PSX-listed stocks, including key metrics like price, change, volume, market cap, and P/E ratio. Data is sourced from the PSX data portal and may be delayed by 15+ minutes during trading hours.
How Overseas Pakistanis Can Invest in PSX
The easiest way for non-resident Pakistanis to invest in PSX is through a Roshan Digital Account (RDA). An RDA lets you open a Pakistani bank account remotely, link it to a CDC (Central Depository Company) sub-account, and trade PSX-listed stocks from abroad.
Supported banks include Meezan Bank, HBL, UBL, MCB, and Bank Alfalah. The entire process is digital and takes 3-7 business days.
For a complete guide, see our Roshan Digital Account guide.
Key PSX Sectors for Expats
PSX stocks are grouped into sectors. The most relevant for overseas Pakistani investors are:
- •Oil & Gas (E&P): OGDC, PPL, MARI — high dividends, dollar-linked revenues
- •Banking: HBL, UBL, MCB, Meezan — trading near book value, strong dividends
- •Fertilizer: FFC, ENGRO — stable demand, consistent payouts
- •Technology: SYS, TRG — growth potential, export earnings
- •Cement: LUCK, DGKC — cyclical, tied to construction activity
Each sector has different risk-return characteristics. Our Stock Screener lets you filter stocks by sector, market cap, dividend yield, and P/E ratio.
